Bento cakes, or lunchbox cakes, take inspiration from Korean minimalist cakes.

These are not cupcakes, and not exactly mini birthday cakes, either.
In fact, bento cakes are typically cheaper and smaller (around four inches across).
They also come in tiny "takeaway" boxes that might usually accommodate a burger.
Why we like it:
- Cute
- Customisable
- Somewhat more economical than a traditional birthday cake
- Looks slightly more sincere than a sliced cake
Cons:
- Not widely available (yet?)
