The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported an additional 226 cases of Covid-19 on Aug. 3.

This brings the total of cases to 53,051.

There were nine imported cases, who had been placed on Stay Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Based on initial investigations, there is one case in the community involving a Prison inmate on Short-Term Visit Pass, who had arrived in Singapore before the implementation of border measures.

He had been segregated from the general inmate population since his admission to Changi Prison Complex on July 30, and was tested as part of the Singapore Prison Service’s proactive screening of newly admitted inmates.

MOH will have more details later this evening.
