2 pumpkins filled with 240g of heroin & 500 ecstasy pills seized in Clementi, man arrested

A total of S$30,000 worth of drugs was recovered from the operation.

About 240g of heroin and around 500 ecstasy pills concealed within two pumpkins were seized in the vicinity of Clementi Avenue 5 on Aug. 3, in an operation mounted by officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

A 64-year-old man was also arrested, a press release by CNB further added.

The operation, which took place in the evening, recovered S$30,000 worth of drugs in total.

Seen bringing basket of vegetables and produce up residential block

During the operation, the man was seen bringing a basket, containing vegetables and produce, up a residential block in the area.

He was arrested by officers when he returned to the ground floor with the basket.

A total of about 0.4g of heroin, about 1g of ‘Ice’ and cash amounting to S$2,276 were then seized from his being.

Afterwards, when the man was brought up to his residential unit and a search was conducted, an additional 0.3g of heroin, around 0.5g of ‘Ice’ and other drug paraphernalia were also recovered, apart from the pumpkins.

CNB highlighted that the total amount of heroin seized from the operation was enough to feed 114 abusers for a week.

Investigations into the drug activities of the suspect are ongoing.
