A fire broke out in a HDB void deck in Ang Mo Kio on Aug. 1.
Fire occurred at senior activity corner
A video posted by Facebook page All Singapore Stuff showed the blaze engulfing a corner of the void deck.
What appears to be various furniture and objects can be seen in the midst of the fire.
The post's caption claimed the fire started while a Personal Mobility Device (PMD) was charging.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that they were alerted to the fire at around 11:15am on Saturday, which occurred at a senior activity corner in the void deck of Blk 105 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4.
SCDF officers managed to extinguish the fire using two Compressed Air Foam backpacks, and a fire extinguisher.
Contrary to what All Singapore Stuff's post claimed, the fire involved a prayer altar and other items in the vicinity, SCDF's preliminary investigations revealed.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
