With a winning percentage of 59.93 per cent, the Workers' Party (WP) has won Aljunied GRC for the third time in a row.

Here are the elected members of parliament (MPs) for Aljunied GRC from WP:

  • Pritam Singh
  • Sylvia Lim
  • Muhammad Faisal Manap
  • Gerald Giam
  • Leon Perera

They achieved 59.93 per cent of the vote.

The team for the PAP consists of:

  • Victor Lye
  • Shamsul Kamar
  • Alex Yeo Sheng Chye
  • Chua Eng Leong
  • Chan Hui Yuh

They achieved 40.07 per cent of the vote.

There were 142,847 votes cast, with 85,603 for WP and 57,244 for the People's Action Party team.

There were also 1,582 rejected votes.

A hard-fought campaign

Before the campaign started, former WP chief Low Thia Khiang made the surprise announcement that he would step down from electoral politics, along with fellow Aljunied GRC team member Chen Show Mao.

To replace them, WP secretary-general Pritam called up Leon Perera and Gerald Giam, who had both previously served as Non-Constituency MPs.

However, Pritam, Lim, Faisal, Giam and Perera managed to outperform the Workers' Party record in both the 2011 and 2015 general elections.
