Communal buffets might be a thing of the past, but à la carte buffets are still very much feasible.

Especially so with the launch of Tung Lok Seafood's buffet menu, which consists of four à la carte options.

A minimum of two persons is needed to dine in. No takeaways are allowed.

The menu

At S$28.80++ (S$33.70), the lunch buffet menu has several categories: cold cuts and appetiser, soup, dim sum, delicacies, rice and noodle, and desserts.

Of interest may be the salmon sashimi, Tung Lok chilli prawns, and braised fish maw soup (limited to one serving per person).

The deluxe lunch option has added luxuries of poached prawns with herbal soup, deep fried sea bass, and Tung Lok chilli crab (limited to one serving per table).

Instead of just fish maw soup, shark's fin is thrown into the mix.

Dinner, on the other hand, already includes the chilli crab. It also has one serving of sautéed scallop and broccoli with X.O. sauce for every table.

Deluxe dinner comes with a braised whole abalone and steamed fresh oysters, in addition to the chilli crab and shark's fin.

Other dishes that might be popular are:

• Crispy fish skin with salted egg yolk
• Prawn paste chicken wings
• Stir-fried squid in sambal sauce
• Stir-fried sliced beef with black pepper
• Deep fried prawns with crispy oats

Making reservations

All three Tung Lok Seafood outlets outlets carry the à la carte buffets.

However, note that not all menus are available at any outlet.

For instance, only lunch and deluxe dinner buffets are available at PLQ Mall.

For a safe bet, Orchard Central has all four options.

Other buffet menus, such as a dim sum buffet and seafood buffet, can also be found at different restaurants.
