Golden Village, Shaw Theatres, and Cathay Cineplexes will be reopening on July 13.
Along with operations resuming, a few highly anticipated movies will also be opening in local cinemas.
"Train to Busan: Peninsula": July 15
Or to fans, "Train to Busan 2".
Note that the movie is not a direct sequel to the first, though, but a new story.
The Korean zombie flick is set four years after the original movie.
Synopsis:
"When the zombie outbreak swept the entire nation, Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won) barely escaped South Korea alive. While living a life of despair in Hong Kong, he receives an enticing offer to return to the quarantined peninsula.
His mission is to retrieve an abandoned truck in the middle of Seoul within a time limit and escape the peninsula silently. But his operation goes haywire when a mysterious militia known as Unit 631 ambushes Jung-seok’s small team, as well as even more vicious hordes of zombies.
In his most desperate moment, Min-jung’s (Lee Jung-hyun) family saves him and he plans one last chance to escape the peninsula once and for all."
"Mulan": Aug. 20
Disney's "Mulan", which was originally scheduled to open on July 23, has been postponed to Aug. 20.
Heavyweights Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, and Gong Li star in this blockbuster.
Synopsis:
"'Mulan' is the epic adventure of a fearless young woman who masquerades as a man in order to fight Northern Invaders attacking China. The eldest daughter of an honoured warrior, Hua Mulan is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. When the Emperor issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army, she steps in to take the place of her ailing father as Hua Jun, becoming one of China’s greatest warriors ever."
"A Quiet Place Part II": Sept. 3
Another long-awaited sequel after an adrenaline-filled first instalment.
Synopsis:
"Following the events at home, the Abbott family now face the terrors of the outside world. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realise the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats lurking beyond the sand path."
