Fire breaks out at Block 167C Punggol East, about 100 people evacuated

The cause of fire is under investigation.

A fire broke out in a unit at Block 167C in Punggol East.

Extinguished with one water jet

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post that they were alerted to the incident at about 12:25pm on Tuesday (July 21).

A unit on the eighth floor of the block was "engulfed in flames" upon SCDF's arrival.

A video of the fire was uploaded onto CNA's YouTube channel.

SCDF firefighters, who were wearing breathing apparatus sets, conducted forced entry into the unit.

The fire involved the contents of the unit and was extinguished with one water jet.

No reported injuries

According to SCDF, about 100 people were evacuated from the affected block.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of fire is under investigation.
