Be wary.

Cooling-off Day for GE2020 falls on July 9.

No campaigning or election advertising is allowed during the 24-hour period.

The same restrictions apply on Polling Day.

Campaigning efforts coming to an end

In a nine-minute IGTV video, Workers' Party candidate Nicole Seah chatted with followers on the progress of her team's walkabouts and campaigning efforts on the last day before Cooling-off Day.

Seah reminded viewers that the party will stop all activities by July 8.

According to the ELD, the period of silence is meant to give voters some time to “reflect rationally on issues raised during the election".

Seah said the Workers' Party has tried their best to put out a "very clean" campaign and discuss issues, as well as let voters get to know them better.

She expressed that she hopes for the viewers' support on Friday.

Timing of "questionable" posts

After thanking her teammates and the volunteers on video, Seah continued to answer questions from viewers.

Touching on the subject of ground sentiment, Seah said it is not an "accurate reflection" of how things are.

Instead, the critical moment comes when a voter is in front of the ballot box, she elaborated.

She then went on to talk about certain "questionable" posts that may potentially be published right before Cooling-off Day, and asks viewers to be "mindful" of their timing.

"To be honest, with Cooling-off Day, do be mindful of the timing of certain posts. If you see certain posts that come in that are suddenly a bit questionable, and you know that there is absolutely no way for the other party to retaliate or to respond, you know, just take note of the timing of the posts as well. There is a reason why these posts will come out right before Cooling-off Day. So, hope that you all will see that lah."

In the same video, Seah also said:

"I think at the end of the day, voting is an extremely personal choice, and it's a very personal decision that you all have to make. So we hope that you will cast the vote for what you want to see, and that you will make a very researched and informed decision."

"There is really no right or wrong answer," she added.
