M'sian police looking for man who drowned 3 cats in washing machines at KL launderette

A man allegedly drowned three cats in three separate washing machines at a self-serviced launderette in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.

CCTV footage of incident went viral online

A CCTV footage of the incident was uploaded to Malaysia Animal Association's Facebook page.

According to the post, the incident occurred at around 5:30am on Sunday (July 12).

In another Facebook post, it was stated that the owner of the launderette had lodged a police report.

Authorities from Malaysia's Veterinary Services Department (DVS) had also been informed.

Case referred to Shah Alam Veterinary Office

Malaysian Animal Association president, Arie Dwi Andika, told  Harian Metro that the suspect is allegedly a man in his 30s.

According to Bernama, a 39-year-old woman filed the police report at 9:30am on July 12.

Gombak district police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe said that the woman had wanted to do her laundry when she discovered three dead cats in three separate washing machines.

Arifai added that the case has been referred to the Shah Alam Veterinary Office for further action under Malaysia's Animal Welfare Act 2015.
