Cross-border travel agreement
It was previously announced that Singapore and Malaysia were planning to implement two schemes, the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) and Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA), to facilitate cross-border travel for essential business and official purposes.
Applications are set to open on Aug. 10.
Singapore's foreign affairs minister Vivian Balakrishnan met his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein on Sunday (July 26) to discuss the arrangements on the schemes.
The previously-common practice of daily commuting, however, will not resume yet.
