The past few days appear to have been a bit of a mixed bag for Minister Lawrence Wong.

On Saturday (Jul. 25), it was announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong that Wong will be appointed Minister for Education, relinquishing his previous post as Minister for National Development.

However, the night prior to this announcement, Wong took to Instagram to share some sad news; the passing of his family's pet golden retriever, Summer.

Passing of Summer

On Friday, Jul. 24, Wong posted a photo on Instagram of his dog, Summer.

In the caption, he shared that, after 16 years, Summer had "crossed the rainbow bridge".

He wrote:

"Goodbye dear Summer. Thank you for bringing so much love and joy to our lives. We will miss u :("

A scroll through Wong's Instagram profile shows that Summer has made a number of appearances in his posts, the oldest two post dating back to 2014.
