Covid-19: 136 new cases on Jul. 5, 18 are outside of dormitories

Seven of the cases are imported cases who were placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 136 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of 12pm on Sunday, July 5.

This brings the total number of cases to 44,800.

The vast majority of the new cases, said the ministry, are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Based on investigations so far, 18 new cases today reside outside of dormitories.

A total of 12 of the new cases are Work Pass holders, and six are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents.

Seven of the new cases are imported cases, and had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

From MOH's preliminary investigations, of the 18 cases, five are close contacts of earlier cases and had already been placed on quarantine.

Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for the other cases.
