191 new Covid-19 cases in S’pore on July 10, 16 cases in the community

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 191 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of 12pm on Friday, July 10.

This brings the total number of cases to 45,613.

The vast majority of new cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Based on MOH's investigations so far, there are 16 cases in the community, of whom seven are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents and nine are Work Pass holders.

Of these 16 community cases, eight were close contacts of earlier cases, and had already been placed on quarantine. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for the other cases.

In addition, there is one imported case who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

MOH will share further updates in the evening.
