His statement came less than two hours after it was reported that he was investigated by his law firm and is currently on a leave of absence.

Imran wrote that he does not know why he has been the subject of attacks and is working with his company on internal investigations.

Law firm Tan Kok Quan Partnership (TKQP) told Today on July 23 that it is investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against Imran.

Allegations of improper conduct by Imran were made by Reform Party member Charles Yeo on July 21.

Yeo put up videos and written posts on Instagram accusing Imran of improper conduct, and highlighting that he is an active volunteer in the community who had been praised by Cabinet ministers before in speeches.

Yeo's video that runs for 35 minutes is still up online.

Some of the allegations appear to have been about incidents that happened some time ago and involved debaters who are members of the opposite sex.

Imran, a renowned debater, is a senior associate at the law firm dealing with commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

He graduated with a law degree from the National University of Singapore in 2013.
