Hong Kong bakery Hang Heung is opening its first overseas shop in Ion Orchard basement at B4-33.

It is taking over Croquant Chou ZakuZaku, which was in operation for a few months.

The famous Hang Heung bakery has eight outlets in Hong Kong.

The first Singapore store is expected to open by the end of August or early September 2020.

The opening is conditional on renovation works being carried out during this Covid-19 pandemic.

Hang Heung will also have a Mooncake Festival pop-up kiosk at Raffles City from Aug. 24.

A 15 per cent early bird mooncake discount will be offered.

Background

Hang Heung was established in 1920 and is operating out of Yuen Long, Hong Kong.

With more than 100 types of confectionery, it has made a name for itself with its traditional Chinese pastries, including its egg rolls and mooncakes.

Its wife cake, a traditional Cantonese pastry, comes with a winter melon paste filling with a flaky crust made of two different doughs.
