No outdoor rallies but you'll get to see politicians on TV tonight again.

The first party political broadcast will happen tonight (July 2).

There will be two party political broadcasts (PPB) in total, on July 2 and July 9.

These are the two PPB slots, which will air across 19 TV and radio channels on:

  • Thursday, July 2, 2020, from 8pm; and
  • Thursday, July 9, 2020, from 8pm

Since the 1980 election, political parties that field a minimum of six candidates under a recognised party symbol are eligible for airtime on free-to-air radio and television.

Independents and political parties fielding fewer than six candidates under the same recognised party symbol are not eligible for the PPBs.

The amount of airtime allocated is determined by the number of candidates fielded by the party.

The order of the PPBs is meanwhile determined by the number of candidates fielded, with the broadcast of the party fielding the least number of candidates aired first, and that fielding the largest number of candidates aired last.

Here's the schedule:

The constituency political broadcasts start from July 3.
