8 men, aged 22-45, to be charged after chanting gang slogans at Mandai Crematorium Service Hall

The police said they will not hesitate to take action against those who choose to be associated with gangs.

Eight men will be charged in court on July 30 for being members of an unlawful society.

According to a news release, the police said the eight men, aged between 22 and 45, chanted gang slogans to show off their secret society affiliation at a funeral service.

The incident happened at Mandai Crematorium Service Hall on Aug. 24, 2019.

They will be charged under Section 14(3) of the Societies Act.

If found guilty, they will face a fine of up to S$5,000 or a jail term of up to three years, or both.

The police added that they have zero tolerance towards secret society activities and will not hesitate to take action against those who choose to be associated with gangs and blatantly disregard the law.
