The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 123 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of July 20, 12pm.
This brings the total number of cases up to 48,035.
The vast majority are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
11 of the new cases are cases in the community. Of these, five are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents while six are Work Pass holders.
In addition, there are two new imported cases who had been on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arriving in Singapore.
Selected travellers to serve SHN at dedicated facilities
In a press conference on Friday (Jul. 17), the Multi-Ministry Task Force (MTF) announced that all travellers with recent travel history, including transit, to Victoria (Australia), Japan, and Hong Kong within the last 14 days will be required to serve their SHN at dedicated facilities instead of their own place of residence.
This new measure, which is in response to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in those regions, has taken effect as of today (July 20).
More details of the new cases will be shared in an evening update.
