Covid-19: 157 new cases on Jul. 7, 12 are S'poreans/PRs

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 157 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of 12pm on Tuesday, July 7.

This brings the total number of cases to 45,140.

The vast majority of the cases, said the ministry, are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

There are 20 cases in the community, of whom 12 are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents and eight are Work Pass holders.

From the preliminary investigations, of these 20 cases, 12 were close contacts of earlier cases, and had already been placed on quarantine. 

There are also three imported cases, all of whom had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

MOH will share further updates in the evening.
