The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 481 cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore, as of 12pm on July 26.

This brings the total number of cases up to 50,369.

New places visited by Covid-19 cases

Five new locations have been added to the list of places visited within the past 14 days by Covid-19 cases when they were infectious.

Three shopping malls, Pioneer Mall, City Square Mall, and Funan Mall, are among the locations added.

The locations are as follows:

  • July 17, 8:00pm to 9:30pm, Pioneer Mall (638 Jurong West Street 61) Giant Hypermarket
  • July 19, 12:00pm to 12:50pm, Mustafa Centre (145 Syed Alwi Road)
  • July 19, 11:25am to 12:25pm, City Square Mall (180 Kitchener Road)
  • July 20, 6:30pm to 7:10pm, Tekka Centre (665 Buffalo Road)
  • July 21, 3:10pm to 4:10h, Funan Mall (107 North Bridge Road)

Those identified as close contacts of confirmed cases would already have been notified by MOH.

As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.

They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.

There is no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection, MOH said.

Breakdown of new cases

Cases residing in dormitories: 472

The vast majority of cases continue to be Work Pass holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

MOH said that this was because of extensive testing in these premises, as part of its process to verify and test the status of all workers, and that the Inter-agency Taskforce is on track to clear all the dormitories by the beginning of August 2020.

Imported cases: Four

There are four new imported cases, all of whom had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Cases in the community: Five

Five of the new cases are cases in the community, all of whom are Work Pass holders.

Three of the community cases (Cases 50190, 50191 and 50192) are unlinked cases, and were detected as a result of periodic screening of workers in essential services who are living outside the dormitories, even though they are asymptomatic.

The other two are contacts of past cases and had been on quarantine.

There are no Singaporean/Permanent Resident community cases.

Discharged cases & cases in care facilities

169 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 45,521 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 173 confirmed cases who are still in hospital.

Of these, most are stable or improving, and none are in intensive care units.

4,648 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

27 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
