17 S'poreans & 1 PR will be charged for social gathering at Compassvale house on May 8

17 Singaporeans and one Singapore Permanent Resident will be charged in court for non-compliance with safe distancing measures (SDM) during the Circuit Breaker, under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.

They are aged between 19 and 37 years old.

On May 8, 2020, a couple residing at Compassvale Crescent invited eight men and eight women to their place of residence for a social gathering.

The 16 people visited the unit between 9:30 pm on May 8, 2020 and 1am on May 9, 2020.

All 16 of them will be charged for violating the restrictions on leaving their place of residence without a valid reason and for violating the prohibition on social gatherings.

The Compassvale couple will be charged for violating the restrictions on permitting other individuals to enter their ordinary place of residence without a valid reason and for violating the prohibition on social gatherings.

The 18 individuals will be charged in court between July 22 and 24.
