Sometimes expectant mothers don't quite reach the hospital before they give birth.

But with a little help, the babies can be delivered safely.

ComfortDelGro shared on Instagram on July 15 that not one, but two babies were born within the span of seven days in their taxis.

On May 27, Mr and Mrs Lindberg were taking a cab driven by Hanafiah Ismail when she gave birth to a baby boy.

Then on June 3, another cabby Lim Wee Beng accepted a booking for KK Women's and Children's Hospital from Mr and Mrs Sim, who was going into labour.

However, she gave birth while they were driving along the expressway.

Lim remained calm, and reminded Mr Sim to take note of the time of birth, and call the hospital to prepare for their arrival.

Lim said:

"I have never in my eight years of driving encountered such a situation in my taxi but I am glad to be of help.

In challenging times such as this pandemic, being able to witness new life is a joyous occasion and I am happy that both mother and child are safe and well."

According to Tammy Tan, ComfortDelGro's Group Chief Corporate Communications Officer:

"Since March this year, we have shared on our various driver communications platforms a video of tips put together by the Public Service Division, Prime Minister's Office and KK Women's and Children's Hospital for cabbies who may encounter deliveries.

Based on feedback received, we believe our cabbies have found it useful since many of them would have had no experience whatsoever in dealing with such situations. We also advise cabbies to call for assistance in such incidents so that proper medical help can be despatched immediately."
