Sometimes expectant mothers don't quite reach the hospital before they give birth.
But with a little help, the babies can be delivered safely.
ComfortDelGro shared on Instagram on July 15 that not one, but two babies were born within the span of seven days in their taxis.
On May 27, Mr and Mrs Lindberg were taking a cab driven by Hanafiah Ismail when she gave birth to a baby boy.
Then on June 3, another cabby Lim Wee Beng accepted a booking for KK Women's and Children's Hospital from Mr and Mrs Sim, who was going into labour.
However, she gave birth while they were driving along the expressway.
Lim remained calm, and reminded Mr Sim to take note of the time of birth, and call the hospital to prepare for their arrival.
"I have never in my eight years of driving encountered such a situation in my taxi but I am glad to be of help.
In challenging times such as this pandemic, being able to witness new life is a joyous occasion and I am happy that both mother and child are safe and well."
According to Tammy Tan, ComfortDelGro's Group Chief Corporate Communications Officer:
"Since March this year, we have shared on our various driver communications platforms a video of tips put together by the Public Service Division, Prime Minister's Office and KK Women's and Children's Hospital for cabbies who may encounter deliveries.
Based on feedback received, we believe our cabbies have found it useful since many of them would have had no experience whatsoever in dealing with such situations. We also advise cabbies to call for assistance in such incidents so that proper medical help can be despatched immediately."

What are the odds of two babies being born in our taxis in a short span of seven days? 👶🏻🍼 But, it happened! And in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic no less! On 27 May, a baby boy was birthed in the taxi driven by Cabby Hanafiah Ismail (4th pic) by Mr and Mrs Lindberg (3rd pic) and a week later, a baby girl was birthed in Cabby Lim Wee Beng's taxi (2nd pic). Cabby Lim, a cabby of eight years, had picked up the booking job for KK Women's and Children's Hospital on the morning of 3 June. Somehow, he had a hunch that it would be an emergency. True enough, the passengers who boarded – Mr and Mrs Sim – were going into labour! Cabby Lim, a father of two, remained calm as he drove quickly. But, along the expressway, the baby was born! Cabby Lim quickly advised Mr Sim to call the hospital to prepare for their arrival and to take note of the time of birth. Said Mr Sim: "Luckily, Cabby Lim reminded us to take note of the details of the birth. We would not have remembered to do so at that moment. The hospital really asked us for those details when we arrived." About the experience, the 63-year-old cabby said: "I have never in my eight years of driving encountered such a situation in my taxi but I am glad to be of help. In challenging times such as this pandemic, being able to witness new life is a joyous occasion and I am happy that both mother and child are safe and well." Congratulations Mr and Mrs Sim! Well done, Cabby Lim!
