Clicknetwork does not support opinions delivered in divisive manner

Clicknetwork emphasised that while it appreciates the diversity of voices that their hosts have, they do not represent those of the channel.

The channel said on a Facebook post on July 22:

"Clicknetwork has always supported a diversity of opinions, voices, and open debate. While we appreciate the diversity of voices that all our hosts bring to the table, none of their personal views represent those of the channel."

They also highlighted that they do not support opinions that a delivered in a "divisive" manner and are against "racism, bigotry and hate":

We believe that there are many ways to shine a light on issues, and we do not support opinions delivered in a manner that is divisive. To be clear, we are against racism, bigotry, and hate.

Clicknetwork proceeds with different host

Clicknetwork said that they have communicated their views to Xiaxue.

Due to "recent events", they added that they will no longer be working with her as a host for their upcoming show "The Public Investigator".

Instead, they will go with a different host.

The channel also said that they will review potential projects with all their hosts:

Moving forward, we will continue to review potential projects with all our hosts with these guidelines clearly communicated. We will ensure that the Clicknetwork community takes greater care in their words and actions, and encourage all to do the same.

Divided opinions

Some individuals in the comment section did not agree with Clicknetwork's decision, perhaps not because of the decision itself, but the timing.

At least one user claimed that the channel had engaged Xiaxue when she was "even more controversial than today" yet was "perfectly fine" with it.

Others said that they had only watched Clicknetwork because of Xiaxue.

Recent events

While the statement's recent events aren't elaborated, this move comes after Xiaxue's tweets dating back to around 10 years ago were dug up in which she allegedly insinuated that people of a certain nationality tend to molest people and sexually assault domestic workers.

Son after, many began to use the Twitter hashtag #PunishXiaxue to call out brands such as Fresh to end their sponsorships with Xiaxue.

On July 6, Fresh announced that it had ended its partnership with Xiaxue.
