Australian lady gets calls from 'wookiees' after ex uses her number for 'Chewbacca roar contest'

A lot of calls.

An Australian woman, Jessica, was inundated with "Chewbacca" calls after her ex-boyfriend of three years placed flyers all over their town advertising a Chewbacca competition — with her number.

This was after Jessica dumped him for cheating on her.

The contest rules? Basically, call in and, when you reach the voicemail, record your best Chewbacca sound.

The problem was, of course, the lady had no intention to partake in the contest. Which meant very late night calls from people imitating Han Solo's furry sidekick.

Australia's 9News reported on Jessica's plight.

Jessica was more bemused than anything by the incident, encouraging people to call the number to make the wookiee sound.

While Jessica has taken the Chewbacca sounds in her stride, even jokingly offering to marry anyone who could do the actual wookiee sound, she spoke out against other much more serious revenge acts that the ex-boyfriend had enacted.

This included dumping his car, with the wheels removed, in the driveway to block her in.

Luckily the police has started to act on this.
