Washable, quick-drying masks to be sold in Uniqlo Japan from Jun. 19, S$12.80 for pack of 3

The company plans to manufacture 500,000 packs per week.

Washable, quick-drying masks will be on sale at Uniqlo stores in Japan from Jun. 19 (Friday), parent company Fast Retailing Co. said on Jun. 15.

Available in three sizes, 990 yen (S$12.80) per pack of 3

The face masks will be sold in packs of three for 990 yen (S$12.80).

The masks will be available in three sizes, small, medium and large.

The mask is made of three layers -- a mesh layer, a filter, and an Airism fabric layer.

According to Kyodo News, they will only be available at Uniqlo outlets in Japan at the moment, but the company has plans to sell the masks at Uniqlo stores overseas as well.

The new mask is able to maintain its basic effectiveness even after being washed 20 times, according to the company.

Purchases in Japan will be limited to one pack per size per person. The company plans to manufacture 500,000 packs per week.
