Man, 41, charged for robbing 18-year-old girl along Teck Whye lane during Phase 1

He had threatened to slap her when she had refused to hand over her two bags to him.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of robbery, said the police in a news release.

On June 16 at about 7:10am, the Police received a report from an 18-year-old female victim that a man had confronted her in the vicinity of Teck Whye Lane.

He had threatened to slap her when she had refused to hand over her two bags to him.

Officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man through ground enquiries, police cameras images and CCTVs.

Charged in court today

He was arrested on June 24, near Keat Hong Close, and is being charged in court today with robbery under Section 392 of the Penal Code.

If found guilty, he could face an imprisonment term of not less than three years and not more than 14 years, and caning with not less than 12 strokes.
