Opposition party Singaporeans First has been officially dissolved

The announcement was made by its secretary-general Tan Jee Say in a Facebook post on June 25.

It added that its Central Executive Committee had since encouraged its members to join other parties that reflected their "values and beliefs" so as to help those parties in the upcoming election.

Tan also highlighted that people who had approached Singaporeans First had since been directed to other parties, while a number of former Singaporeans First members were active in other parties.

In adding that such a move was in the "best interests of Singaporeans", Tan said "we believe a strong opposition is achieved with consolidation".
