The Singapore Food Agency highlighted in a Facebook post that there is currently no evidence that Covid-19 spreads to humans through food, food packaging or equipment.
This announcement comes after Beijing markets stopped selling salmon after Covid-19 was detected on a chopping board for imported salmon.
"We are monitoring the developments closely": SFA
According to their Facebook post on June 16, SFA addressed concerns surrounding Covid-19 being spread through food, such as salmon.
The agency is monitoring development closely and highlighted that there is no evidence at this point of time that the virus is transmitted via food, food packaging and related equipment.
They added that this is "in line with the current state of knowledge across scientific communities and public health authorities worldwide".
In SFA's post, the agency urged for members of the member to practice good hygiene practices, such as staying at home if you are unwell, washing your hands before eating and not sharing food and/or drinks with others.
