The Singapore Parliament has been dissolved, but the good work done in housing estates is still ongoing during this transition phase, even as the country gears up for the next general election.

In the midst of preparing for the hustings, Workers' Party chief Pritam Singh has shared another Aljunied-Hougang Town Council video featuring another one of the people working behind the scenes to improve estates and keep them going.

The video features Muhammad Indra, a lift officer working for AHTC.

Pritam wrote in this post, with a reference to the onslaught of videos being put out these past few days trumpeting the work done by other town councils:

But instead of focusing primarily on improvements and changes throughout the town, the AHTC management team decided to showcase human stories. We decided to focus on our people, those who make improvements possible and who attend to issues when they crop up. This is Indra’s story, centred around the lifts in Aljunied-Hougang town.

The video said AHTC will replace more than 100 lifts above 28 years old over the next five years.

"This will benefit around 5,000 households," the video said.

"AHTC has allocated S$15 million for the Lift Replacement Programme (LRP). Under this programme, the new lifts will come with additional safety features such as braille lift buttons, handrails and CCTVs," the video added.

Previously, Pritam shared the first video about a resident's anonymous thank you note for the estate cleaner.

These two videos so far have appeared on the new Aljunied-Hougang Town Council YouTube channel.
