All bubble tea shops allowed to reopen on Jun. 19 after nearly 2 months of closure

Good news.

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce announced on June 15 that Phase 2 would be kicking in on June 19.

This brings with it the easing of numerous restrictions and perhaps some normalcy.

Social activities can now resume at a cap of not more than five people, retail outlets will reopen, and dining in at F&B outlets will be allowed.

Bubble tea stores will be reopening as well.

All food services to reopen

All food services are permitted to reopen on June 19, according to the updated list of businesses allowed to reopen in Phase 2, with the exception of pubs.

Perhaps in view of reopening, KOI Thé Singapore has also put up a hiring notice on Facebook on June 9.

Bubble tea stores were previously closed on Apr. 22, along with dessert stores and all other F&B outlets selling predominantly beverages, as part of tighter restrictions during the circuit breaker.

The closures resulted in droves of people heading to the stores seeking out one last cup. Long queues and even some spats inevitably ensued.

Since then, certain brands of bubble tea have only been available partnered with select food brands on food delivery platforms.

Time to rejoice.
