On April 8, a woman, Vivienne Lim, took to Facebook group Hawkers United - Dabao 2020 to share about her father's vegetarian zi char stall at Bedok North Ave 2.

She asked Singaporeans during this Covid-19 pandemic to support hawkers like her father, who owns Lin Lin Vegetarian Delight.

The post was shared some 600 times.

"Passed away peacefully"

Subsequently on June 12, Lim shared in another Facebook post that her father had "passed away peacefully last night".

She also added that the passing was "very sudden and a shock to the family".

However, as the stall was built on her "dad's blood and sweat for the past 30 years", Lim promised to continue keeping the stall open for as long as they can.

Appeals for customers' support

Lim expressed her gratitude on behalf of her father, emphasising how customers do not realise how much their support meant to him.

She also hopes that customers will continue to support the stall:

"On behalf of my Dad, we would like to thank all of you, especially our regulars who have been so supportive of him through these years. You don’t know how much this means to him. We hope that you will continue to support us."

Lim added: "It is a difficult time for the family as well as the workers who have been extremely loyal to the business".

She then asked for customers' support and understanding when they visit the stall by offering a word of encouragement to the staff as they've been "holding the fort while the family was with dad in the hospital".

She also requested customers be patient towards the staff if there's a mistake in your order as it wasn't done on purpose.

Dear all,

With profound sadness, I would like to inform that my dad passed away peacefully last night.

Hence we will be closed on 12th June (Friday). Business will resume on 13th June (Saturday).

It was very sudden and a shock to the family.

This stall is built on dad’s blood and sweat for the past 30years. Hence we will try to keep the business running as long as we can.

It is a difficult time for the family as well as the workers who have been extremely loyal to the business. Hence, we would like to ask for the following favors during this period of grief:

The next time you drop by....

- Pls extend your grace and patience towards the staffs should we miss/ made errors on any orders. Am sure that they didn’t mean to

- If you could just give the staffs a word of encouragement, that’ll be extremely uplifting for them. They have been faithfully holding the fort while the family was with dad in the hospital

On behalf of my Dad, we would like to thank all of you, especially our regulars who have been so supportive of him through these years. You don’t know how much this means to him. We hope that you will continue to support us.

Lastly, with Father’s Day is approaching, I would like to say...

Don’t stop loving your love ones. Even if you feel that they have hurt you. People who hurt are hurt. Keep loving them, because love overcomes and love overtakes. I am glad that Dad and I always chose to continue to love each other no matter how upset we were. And we shared many many adventures together ✊🏻

My dad is a lao hero... am sure he is partying in heaven now.

Thank you for reading this long message.

To the admin, I am sorry if this is inappropriate. Pls remove if you deem necessary. We will understand
