The individual physical proficiency test (IPPT) for operationally ready national servicemen (NSmen) has been suspended since Mar. 31.

The suspension has been extended till Aug. 31, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) announced in a text message broadcast to NSmen on June 22.

One-time waiver

NSmen who are due to meet their annual IPPT requirement before Aug. 31 will be granted a one-time waiver, and will receive a letter in the next three weeks.

The text message stated that IPPT preparatory training (IPT) and remedial training (RT) at fitness conditioning centres, Safra gyms and parks would continue to be suspended.

On the NS portal, where NS men can book IPPT, IPT and RT sessions, bookings are unavailable till Sep. 2020.

Mindef previously said on June 16 that IPPT, IPT and RT at Fitness Conditioning Centres would continue to be deferred, along with in-camp training (ICT) deemed to be non-essential to operations.
