Imperial Treasure Nan Bei Restaurant (御寶南北小馆) on the fifth floor of Ngee Ann City has closed down permanently on June 8, 2020.

The Imperial Treasure Group put up a notice on June 10 announcing that the eatery ceased operations since June 8.

The 16-year-old restaurant is well-known for its dim sum, homely feel, and attentive staff.

Imperial Treasure Nan Bei Restarant was one of the more popular concepts under the Imperial Treasure Group, and known for offering southern and northern Chinese cuisine, as well as immaculate service.

It is the second restaurant by the group founded by Alfred Leung.

Leung was previously with the Crystal Jade Group.

He left to start his own Imperial Treasure brand.

A favourite haunt for family gatherings and dinners, especially among the elderly, the eatery offered Hong Kong style dim sum, Sichuan food and Cantonese desserts.

Popular dishes included their roasted pork, yang zhou fried rice, shrimp congee and noodles.

The Imperial Treasure chain now operates 16 outlets in Singapore, with some temporarily closed during this Covid-19 pandemic.
