M'cyclist, 31, gets pinned under taxi in Jurong West traffic accident

Police investigations are ongoing.

A motorcyclist ended up getting trapped underneath a taxi after an accident at Jurong West Street 24 on Tuesday (June 16) night.

A few videos of the accident have circulated online:

 

In the videos, a motorcycle is seen lying on the road, while the motorcyclist can be heard shouting for help from underneath a TransCab taxi.

A pool of blood can also be seen near the taxi's tyres.

Some members of the public tried to collectively lift the taxi to free the motorcyclist but to no avail.

Rescued by SCDF

Moments later, Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers arrived at the scene.

Responding to queries from Mothership, SCDF said that they were alerted to the road traffic accident at about 8:05pm on June 16.

A person was found trapped near the front wheel of a vehicle.

SCDF subsequently rescued the trapped person using hydraulic rescue tools.

Motorcyclist conscious when conveyed to NUH

Police told Mothership that they were alerted to the accident along Jurong West Street 24 towards Jurong West Avenue 3 at 8:06pm on June 16.

The 31-year-old male motorcyclist was conscious when conveyed to National University Hospital (NUH).

Police investigations are ongoing.

According to The Straits Times, a TransCab spokesman said that the company will be assisting with investigations.
