The Workers' Party will contest six constituencies this GE2020.
They were earlier believed to be only contesting five.
The party's leader Pritam Singh announced this during a press conference on June 25.
In addition to Hougang SMC, WP is also planning to contest Punggol West SMC.
The other four GRCs they are contesting are Aljunied GRC, Marine Parade GRC, Sengkang GRC, and East Coast GRC.
In the same press conference, it was announced that Low Thia Khiang, Png Eng Huat & Chen Show Mao will not be contesting this parliament term, but will not necessarily be retiring.
Low had recently suffered a fall, which landed him in hospital, but has been recovering well recently.
