S'porean woman, 42, who berated & spat on KFC staff at NEX to be charged in court on June 10

She was arrested on Apr. 24.

A 42-year-old Singaporean woman will be charged in court on Jun. 10 for verbally abusing and spitting at a KFC service staff at NEX shopping centre, according to a Jun. 9 police news release.

Cursed and spat on KFC staff

On Apr. 22, a video of the incident went viral online.

In the video, the woman was heard cursing at the staff, telling her to die.

After shouting at the staff, the woman then apparently spat on her face twice.

Arrested on Apr. 24

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the woman and arrested her on Apr. 24.

She allegedly pulled down her mask just before the incident.

The woman will be charged in court on Jun. 10 for the following offences:

  • Intentional harassment under Section 3(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act.
  • Use of criminal force under Section 352 of the Penal Code.
  • Breach of safe distancing measures under regulation 3A(1)(a) of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measure) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
