Covid-19: 383 new cases on June 7, bringing total to 37,910

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 383 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12pm on Sunday, June 7.

This brings the total number of reported cases in Singapore to 37,910.

The majority of the reported infections are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Preliminary findings indicate 14 cases in the community, of whom 10 are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents and four are Work Pass/Student Pass holders.

Four students and one school staff member are included in the count of community cases, the Ministry of Education said on June 7.

The five confirmed cases come from the following schools:

  • Anglican High School
  • CHIJ Katong Convent
  • CHIJ St. Theresa’s Convent
  • Geylang Methodist Secondary School
  • Hwa Chong Institution

Another confirmed case came from Ascensia International School.

Further updates will be shared in a separate announcement from the Ministry later this evening.

Covid-19 situation in Singapore

There have been 25 reported deaths from complications due to Covid-19 infection in Singapore, after the 25th death was reported on June 6.

This was Case 11714, a 41-year-old male Chinese national, who passed away on June 4. 

Meanwhile, it was also reported on June 6 that the FairPrice outlet at Hougang Mall was visited by a confirmed infectious case in the community on May 30, from 11:10am to 12pm.

Persons who had been at identified locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.
