The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 191 new cases of Covid-19 infection on Wednesday, June 24.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 42,623.

The vast majority of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

There are seven new cases in the community, including two Singaporeans and five Work Pass holders.

Details from June 24 update

Here are the case details:

Of the seven cases in the community, four cases in the community had been picked up as a result of proactive surveillance and screening.

The remaining three cases had been tested when they sought medical treatment.

Amongst the two Singaporean cases, one (Case 42616) was tested as part of efforts to proactively screen persons working at dormitories.

Amongst the five Work Pass/ Work Permit holders, two (Cases 42620 and 42652) are asymptomatic, but were detected as part of MOH's screening of workers in essential services.

Serological tests were also conducted to determine if some of these cases are current or past infections. The serological test result for Case 42620 has come back positive, which indicates likely past infection.

Another case (Case 42617) was swabbed as he works at a dormitory, even though he is also asymptomatic.

Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for the remaining two cases (Cases 42481 and 42498), who have been linked to a cluster.
