The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 347 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (June 13).

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 40,197.

The majority of the reported infections are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Community cases

Among the confirmed cases, there are five in the community.

Of the five, three had been picked up as a result of the government's proactive surveillance and screening, and one had already been placed on quarantine.

In addition, two are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents and three are Work Pass holders.

Both Singaporean cases were detected through proactive screening.

The first one, Case 39893, was tested as part ofMOH's proactive testing of school students above the age of 12 diagnosed with acute respiratory infection (ARI) at first presentation to a doctor.

Her serological test result has come back positive, which is indicative of a past infection.

The epidemiological evidence suggests that she was likely to have been infected during the Circuit Breaker period, and not after school re-opening.

The other case, Case 39901, was swabbed as she works at SCM Tuas Lodge, a dormitory.

Summary of confirmed cases so far

There are currently 228 confirmed cases who are still in hospitals.

Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

11,135 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

768 more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In total, 28,808 cases have recovered from the virus and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
