Chickens were on the run on Kranji Expressway at about 4am on June 25.

Photos uploaded on Facebook and circulating on WhatsApp showed a lorry had overturned on the expressway, and its contents of chickens in crates were strewn on the ground, suddenly exposed to freedom.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, one person sustained slight injuries:

On June 25, at about 4.15am, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident along the KJE towards Woodlands, near the BKE exit. A person was assessed by a SCDF paramedic for minor injuries but subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital.

It is not known how many chickens were killed or injured.

Social media posts said the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) exit was blocked as a result of the accident.
