If you are thinking eggs coming from Australia via air freight will be more expensive, here's something for you.

An egg vendor in Pasir Ris is selling eggs from Australia at discounted prices for the elderly aged 65 and above.

Speaking to Mothership, the stall owner who only wishes to be known as Tan, said that they are offering this discount to those who are 65 and above at S$3 for a tray of 30 and S$4 for those aged below 65.

However, Tan said that they do not need their customers to show any proof and they are willing to offer younger customers the cheaper price if they ask for it.

Tan told Mothership that they are selling at such low prices because they want to help Singaporeans through this tough economic period, which is likely to last for a while due to the pandemic.

Tan said that the eggs weigh 55g to 60g and these "high quality" eggs come directly from Australian farmers.

Tan also added that while they currently only have a stall at 441 Pasir Ris Drive 6, they are looking at opening more outlets.

They have been selling eggs in Pasir Ris since April 12 and have launched this promotion two weeks ago.

The promotion will last until the end of 2020, according to Tan.

For bulk purchases, they are offering 180 eggs at S$18- S$24, and they are available online too.
