Singaporeans, both at home and abroad, can raise money for those impacted by the Covid-19 situation by just walking at home.

By challenging participants to hit a target, the campaign also aims to show solidarity for the frontline workers who "continue to work tirelessly", the organisers said.

WeWalk for SG is organised by Philotimo, made up of Hwa Chong alumni.

Participants can walk at their own time and pace from May 23 to 31, 2020.

As long as they hit a combined number of more than 20 million steps over the nine-day period, the alumni will donate S$35,000 to charity.

Beneficiaries are:

  • Child At Street 11, which provides childcare and early-education to children from underprivileged families
  • Brahm Centre, which promotes mental health mainly among the needy elderly

Event ambassadors include Baey Yam Keng, Mark Lee, and radio personality Chung Kun Wah.
