A nurse who was deployed to the community care facility at Singapore Expo was confirmed with Covid-19 on May 2.

The 34-year-old female Singapore citizen is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

She is employed as a nurse by the Health Promotion Board, and has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions.

The patient had not gone to work since onset of symptoms.

The Singapore Expo is designated as the second community isolation facility to house Covid-19 patients who have recovered, but might still be infectious or have milder symptoms.

Patients who stay at the facility will still receive medical care, although they have been determined as not needing "significant" care.

Hospitals can then be freed up for patients who require more medical attention.
