Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy dies of complications from Covid-19

One half of the legendary Las Vegas entertainment team, Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn, has passed away at 75 due to complications from Covid-19.

The announcement of Horn's death was made in a statement by his publicist.

A statement was also made by his long-time friend and performing partner, Fishbacher.

According to the statement, carried by US media outlets, Fishbacher talked about the loss of his best friend.

"Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend. From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried."

The German-born performers' had one of the most successful productions ever in Las Vegas. The show however was put to an end when Horn was attacked by a white tiger during one of their performance.

Horn had to undergo two operations and weeks of rehabilitation after the attack.

The duo officially retired from showbiz in 2010.

They had been working on a biopic that was scheduled to be released in 2021.
