The African penguins at Singapore Zoo have been exploring the zoo a bit recently.

After having fun at the empty playground and a customised obstacle course, some penguins are now ready to walk a bit further out with their keepers.

Visit the orangutans

13 penguins paid a visit to the orangutans.

No shower of bubbles this time though when the penguins waddled 30m to the orangutans' enclosure.

Speaking to Mothership, a Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) spokesperson said that the orangutans were initially curious and stared at the penguins for a while, before going about their own business.

The orangutans were quite a distance away so the penguins did not have much of a reaction.

Here are two curious fellows swinging by to check out the penguins:

Pay respect to Ah Meng

The troop of penguins then made their way to Ah Meng's memorial site, about 80m away from the penguin's exhibit.

Here they are looking at the iconic Ah Meng:

Besides seeing the late Ah Meng's statue, the penguins also got to bask in the sun and catch a glimpse of the beautiful view of the Upper Seletar Reservoir.

The WRS spokesperson added that these walks to different places serve to expose the penguins to different sights and sounds in order to keep them engaged and stimulate them mentally and physically.

After their adventure, the 13 of them also enjoy a dip in the pool back home.
