Don't forget to return the shopping baskets after grocery shopping at supermarkets.

On May 8, NTUC FairPrice shared on their Facebook page that a typical FairPrice store will lose 50 or more shopping baskets per month.

According to the supermarket chain, some of these baskets may be brought home by customers or abandoned elsewhere.

As a result, it is asking its customers to return the baskets to the stores if they chance upon it anywhere.

"As we continue to manage our stores and services in view of the #COVID19 situation, we would appreciate your help to help us return any of our baskets that you may chance upon to our stores.

Together, we can ensure that everyone around us has ready access to our in-store resources to enable speedy, fuss-free shopping."

Trolleys also abandoned

Apart from missing baskets, more than 500 reports of abandoned strollers have also been made this year.

In 2019, FairPrice received more than 3,000 reports, while 2018 saw about 4,000 reports.

Just last month, a few NTUC FairPrice staff were seen retrieving trolleys that were abandoned by the road.

Members of the public who find abandoned trolleys may report them on the OneService app, or contact FairPrice through the customer hotline number at 6552 2722.
