Circuit breaker: 15 brands in S'pore offering home delivery for cakes this Mother's Day

Mother's Day falls on May 10 this year.

While Covid-19 may have thrown a wrench in your plans, here are 15 brands still offering whole cakes and delivery, which should come in useful for celebrating the occasion.

1) PrimaDéli

This year, PrimaDéli is selling two special cakes for Mother's Day — Queen of My Heart and Royal Mom.

Queen of My Heart (S$43.80)

Queen of My Heart is an "M" shaped cake that is crafted with vanilla sponge, hazelnut cream filling and topped with colourful buttercream swirls.

Royal Mom (S$46.80)

On the other hand, Royal Mom is an all-chocolate sponge cake with chocolate truffle cream and red, hand piped buttercream roses.

The last date for delivery or collection of these cakes is on May 12.

PrimaDéli cakes also contain or may contain traces of gelatine and are not suitable for vegetarians.

The cakes are currently available for pre-order, and will be available for ordering online and at outlets till May 17.

Collection and delivery dates run from May 14-19 — past Mother's Day, which falls on May 10. 

2) LeTAO

LeTAO is a cake shop from the city of Otaru in Hokkaido, Japan.

Berry Fromage (S$35)

You can consider getting their Berry Fromage cake, which is made of strawberries and raspberry cream cheese.

It is also one of the brand's most popular seasonal cheesecakes.

3) Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory

Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory is a Tokyo-born brand that is affiliated with fellow Japanese cake brand LeTAO.

Although their physical stores are closed for now, their cheesecakes are still available for islandwide delivery.

Tiramisu Milk Cheesecake (S$34.90)

The 12-inch Tiramisu cheesecake is made of coffee sponge cake, crepe, cheese mousse, and a layer of coffee cake crumbs on top.

Strawberry Milk Cheesecake (S$34.90)

If Tiramisu's not your thing, consider getting the Strawberry Milk Cheesecake, which is made with Japanese strawberries, cream cheese from France and Hokkaido, and a wrapped crepe at the base.

4) Paris Baguette

Korean bakery Paris Baguette has two new cake creations this Mother's Day.

Strawberry Blossom Cake (S$55)

Their Strawberry Blossom Cake is a light, vanilla sponge layered cake with fresh cream, strawberries and decorative flowers.

Chocolate Blossom Cake (S$55)

Similarly, their Chocolate Blossom Cake is a light, chocolate sponge layered cake with fresh cream, dark chocolate cream, strawberries and a decorative floral ornament.

Do note that these Mother’s Day cakes will only be available for islandwide delivery/takeaway from May 8 onwards.

A nominal delivery fee will also be charged for each order.

For in-store pickup and takeaway orders during the Circuit Breaker period, cakes can be purchased from Paris Baguette’s Wisma Atria, Jem and Jewel Changi Airport outlets.

5) OLLELLA

Founded in 2016, OLLELLA is a cake and pastry shop started by two sisters, Ollyvia and Marcella Putri.

They are currently selling two types of cakes - number/letter cakes, or whole cakes.

Number/Letter Cakes (from S$23.80)

Number cakes start from S$23.80 and go all the way up to S$43, excluding extra costs for bigger cake sizes.

There is also an add-on charge of S$5 if one wants a letter cake instead of a number cake.

Whole Cakes (from S$32)

On the other hand, whole cakes range from S$32 to S$34 and include flavours like chocolate fudge, strawberry vanilla, ondeh ondeh and even apple strudel.

OLLELLA will be providing free islandwide delivery for orders above S$25 during the circuit breaker period, excluding certain areas.

6) All The Batter

All The Batter is Singapore’s very first avocado-themed cafe.

According to their website, all their cakes are made using fresh avocados, and include vegan-friendly and gluten-free options.

Mother’s Day Avocado Gula Melaka Cake (S$55)

The cafe has launched a Mother's Day Avocado Gula Melaka Cake.

Topped with an edible flower bouquet and complimentary handcrafted dark chocolate wordings, the cake is made with two moist layers of avocado batter cake and gula melaka.

Customers can also opt for a low Gylcemic Index (GI) organic sugar and eggless version of the cake.

Avocado Matcha Cake (S$48 - S$58)

Alternatively, there is also the Avocado Matcha Cake, which is made of Japanese tea leaves infused into real avocados, paired with two moist layers of avocado batter cake.

There two versions to this cake as well — one made using low (GI) organic sugar (S$58) and one without (S$48).

7) Plain Vanilla

Plain Vanilla is a bakery better known for their cupcakes, sliced cakes, brownies and tarts.

For this period, signature cupcakes are still available.

25Grams is a cake bakery founded and headed by Le Cordon Bleu graduate, Nicole.

While her physical store will be closed during the Circuit Breaker period, you can still order any of her 24 cakes online and have it delivered to their home.

10) Cat & the Fiddle

Cat & The Fiddle is a Halal-certified cheesecake retailer that sells up to 20 varieties of gourmet cheesecakes.

King Cat of the Mountain (S$52.90)

King Cat of the Mountain is a no-bake Mao Shan Wang durian cake that is made with durian sponge cake and durian-studded cream cheese, crowned with cubes of soft sponge.

Madam Roselle (S$48.90)

If you want something less heavy on the palette, Madam Roselle is a no-bake cheesecake made of Roselle tea jelly cubes and a yoghurt mix atop a cookie base.

Cedele is a food & beverage chain that specialises in handmade, artisan baked goods.

Carrot Walnut Cake (S$56)

Consider getting their Carrot Walnut Cake, which is made with moist carrot cake and finished with cream cheese frosting and raw walnuts.

Antoinette is a Parisian patisserie with a range of French desserts.

Super Lova (from S$10++)

Super Lova consists of rose petal mousse, rose finger sponge, yuzu cream, raspberry jelly, lychee, rose petal meringue, raspberry cavier, rose macaron, raspberry crumble and raspberry marshmallow.

It also comes in three sizes:

Earl Grey Bubble Tea Cake (from S$9.50++)

The Earl Grey Bubble Tea cake, on the other hand, is made of earl grey chiffon cake, salted cheese cream, black sugar pearls and fresh mango cubes.

13) The Deli by Goodwood Park Hotel

The Deli by Goodwood Park Hotel offers an assortment of cakes, pastries, hot savoury pies and sandwiches for both delivery and takeaway.

At the moment, however, only only Durian Fiesta pastries are available. 

D24 Summer Dream (S$72 with GST)

In line with durian season, they are currently retailing D24 Summer Dream, a sponge cake with layers of durian pulp that is crowned with a medley of grapes, blueberries and edible flowers within jelly.

D24 Party Squares (S$80 with GST)

Another durian creation one can order is the D24 Party Squares, which is made with 16 petite cakes that consist of durian mousse, paired with four different flavours: cream cheese, pandan coconut, coffee and chocolate marquise.

Update on May 4, 10:35pm: The hotel has revised its delivery details:

Customers will be entitled to free delivery to one location (except Jurong Island) for orders of S$120 and above for Coffee Lounge, Min Jiang, The Deli. 

Otherwise, a S$15 delivery fee per location will be applicable.

Due to overwhelming demand, the next earliest date for new orders (self-collection or delivery) of durian pastries will be May 14, the hotel has updated on its site.         

There will also be 15 per cent off online orders for takeaways from now till July 26.

14) Colony Bakery by Ritz Carlton

Colony Bakery by Ritz Carlton offers an assortment of breads, pastries, chocolates, cakes and seasonal goodies.

Mango Cake (S$78)

The Mango Cake consists of vanilla ladyfinger biscuits, mango jelly and mango mousse.

D9 Cakery by Hilton Singapore specialises in artisanal patisserie items like cakes, pastries and pralines.

Signature Double Chocolate Cake (S$55)

The Signature Double Chocolate Cake is made with eight layers of Valrhona chocolates and yoghurt cocoa sponge.

Hilton Classic American Cheese Cake (S$80)

If not, the Hilton Classic American Cheese Cake, made with 100 per cent Philadelphia cream cheese is another option.

Otherwise, a S$25 nett delivery fee will be charged per location.
