The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 657 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of May 3 at 12pm.

The vast majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Ten cases are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents, many of whom are linked cases.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Singapore to 18,205.

MOH explains that the number of cases amongst migrant workers has been fluctuating in recent days due to clearance of backlogged cases by one laboratory.

The authority is working with the laboratory to stabilise its operations, the release added.

Details of the cases are currently being worked on, and further updates will be shared via a separate press release that will be issued later tonight.
