On April 29, Malaysian radio DJ and singer Danny Koo shared a recipe for mini Milo lava cakes on his YouTube channel on April 29.

The recipe only requires five ingredients (and hot water).

No baking is required.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients

  • Four tablespoons of Milo powder
  • One tablespoon of hot water
  • One egg
  • Two tablespoons of sugar
  • Three tablespoons of flour
  • Three tablespoons of melted butter

Method

  1. Add four tablespoons of Milo and one tablespoon of hot water into a bowl, and mix until combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, crack one egg and add two tablespoons of sugar, and stir until all the sugar has been dissolved.
  3. Add three tablespoons of flour into the egg and sugar mixture, and mix until combined.
  4. Pour the Milo mixture in, and continue to stir until combined.
  5. Heat a bit of butter on low heat in a pan until it completely melts.
  6. Add three tablespoons of the melted butter into the cake mixture and mix until combined.
  7. Using the leftover melted butter, coat the inside of a few small cake moulds with butter to prevent the cake from sticking.
  8. Pour the cake batter into the cake moulds.

  9. Pour some water in a pan and bring it to a boil.
  10. Once the water begins to boil, put a heating rack in the pan and place the cakes on top of the rack.
  11. Cover the cake mould with a cloth to prevent water droplets and cover the pan with a lid.
  12. Leave it to steam at high heat for seven to eight minutes. Make sure not to overcook it in order to achieve a lava texture within the cake.
  13. Once it is steamed, let it cool for a bit.
  14. Remove the lava cake from the cake mould and serve.

You can have it as it is, or garnish it with powdered sugar or Milo powder.
